The Arthur S. Young Company sold and repaired steam equipment - engines, tractors, and farm implements. It was founded by Arthur S. Young in 1916, after he had spent several years hiring out his steam-powered threshing engine as an independent businessman.

E. Herman Brackbill went to work at the Arthur S. Young Company in the employ of his father in law and alongside his wife Jane in 1940 after leaving Hess's Mill.

The Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association reunions were held on the grounds of the Arthur S. Young Company starting in 1948.
